Top 5 mistakes when installing the tracker
For more than 8 years, Ivan Glonassov has been supplying car trackers and transport monitoring equipment to integrator companies throughout Russia and the CIS. Providing customer service and technical support, we are faced with cases of incorrect installation of devices, leading both to deterioration of the characteristics of the devices and to their complete failure. Specialists of the technical department Ivan Glonassov receive diagnostic devices with comments: "It just worked, then it stopped," "suddenly it stopped communicating," "inaccurate data is coming," etc. Most of these cases are due to unsatisfactory installation quality. In this article we have collected five of the most important mistakes when installing car trackers.
1. Incorrect installation location. It would seem that the car is a large enough object and it will not be difficult to choose the installation location, there is a place to roam, but nevertheless there are a number of places where the tracker will not live long. For example, next to the exhaust manifold there is an increased exhaust gas temperature and charred plastic remains in your hands. This also applies to placing a non-moisture-proof tracker under the hood, moisture and sour contacts will quickly disable the device.
2. Inaccurate installation. Quality often suffers in pursuit of quantity. A tangle of tangled wires is not only not aesthetically pleasing, but can also lead to equipment damage. Loose braids of wires near the steering column can create a danger of winding the wires on the shaft while driving, which will lead to their breakage. Do not save on ties, electrical tape and corrugation.

3. Inaccurate wiring insulation. When working with a car electrician, you need to remember that poor-quality contact insulation can lead not only to a repeat visit by the client and the elimination of imperfections, but also to more serious consequences. For example, a wiring fire and, as a result, financial losses are serious. Remember - there is never a lot of electrical tape.
4. Neglect of sealant. Having placed a tracker with IP67 under the hood and leading the wires to connect to the cabin, it is often necessary to make an additional hole for this. Having drilled, we strongly recommend sealing the hole and installing a rubber sleeve, which will allow the wires not to fray over time, and the car body will not get a corrosion center.
5. And the fifth point we have is the use of a non-specialized tool. External antenna wires are often laid under the car's upholstery. To save time, the removal of the casing is neglected, but simply push the wire with a simple screwdriver. This can damage the wire not only of the antenna itself, but also of the standard wiring. As a result, communication with satellites is possible during the operation of the tracker. If you do not plan to remove the skin, then at least use a plastic tool
