Calibration stations

Calibration stations are automatic devices designed to calibrate fuel level sensors (FLS). The equipment allows you to quickly and accurately adjust the volume of fuels and lubricants and level indicators of any capacity - a car gas tank, tanks at gas stations, barrels at a storage warehouse. Being one of the elements of modern monitoring systems, calibration stations help prevent theft and inappropriate fuel consumption at the enterprise, simplify the inventory process.

Why is fuel monitoring necessary?

Enterprises and companies that use large volumes of fuel and lubricants face the problem of effective control over the consumption, sale and storage of gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil. For passenger and cargo fleets, draining, reselling fuel, which are carried out by unscrupulous drivers, remains relevant.

At filling stations, it is important to know exactly the stocks of goods, the speed of their implementation, the characteristics of demand depending on time or events. Quantitative monitoring with subsequent analytics helps not only to stay afloat during a crisis, but also to successfully develop the company.

One of the tools to control the use of the car, along with the installation of a tachograph and a GPS tracker, to solve these problems are devices that show the level of fuel in the tank. They are used at stationary and mobile facilities, integrated into an automatic system. The financial success of the enterprise depends on the accuracy of the sensors.

Level gauges are:

• Float. These devices are included in the basic package of any car. They are located in the gas tank, fixing the remaining fuel in a constant mode. Information is displayed on the control panel of the machine. They are distinguished by a relatively large error in readings, which can reach up to 30%.
• Capacitive. Electronic devices that are capable of transmitting information wirelessly via a GPS tracker. With their help, you can track fuel consumption in real time with great accuracy and at any distance from the car.
• Ultrasonic. In terms of functionality, they are similar to capacitive sensors, but they work on a different principle.

The last two types of sensors measure the fuel level with an error of 1-2%, are installed at the request of the owner, and are integrated into the monitoring system software.

Functional

Calibration stations are used to adjust the operation of measuring instruments after they have been installed, repaired or replaced. Professional models are able to simultaneously work with several sensors, forming and storing a calibration table for each of them during the measurement process.

Depending on the model and purpose (professional, mobile), the devices are designed for different power consumption - 12, 24 or 220 Volts.

The device can:

• Work with pre-programmed values of the time interval and portion of fuel (auto-spill).

• Notify with a sound about the beginning / end of the operation being performed.

• Record and store up to hundreds of graded tables.

• Program the sensors for the required fuel consumption.

• Transfer information via the built-in USB module.

The last of these functions is convenient for preventing excessive fuel consumption at enterprises with approved vehicle routes.

The principle of operation of the calibration station

Fuel consumption sensors show not liters, but mm - the level in the tank. Calibration allows you to set how much fuel and lubricants is placed in the tank (and the shape of the tank is different) from mark to mark. The tank calibration process is at least twice as fast, the measurement accuracy is set by the user.

Schematically, the taring looks like this:

• At the preliminary stage, in the mobile application (DUT-E, Piusi, Garvex or any other), the volume of the fuel tank is set.
• It is automatically divided into several dozen calibration points.
• The station starts up, the pump discretely pumps fuel into the tank through the flow meter.
• The volume of each "portion" and the corresponding fuel level in the tank are sent to the mobile application.
• Here the working calibration table is formed and stored. If several tanks were calibrated, then the file will be different for each.

The received data can be saved to a USB flash drive or in the memory of the fuel level sensor.

Stations are equipped with:

• Convenient carrying handles.
• Two fuel hoses inlet / outlet located on opposite sides of the body.
• Block with a toggle switch to turn off the power, start the engine.
• Keyboard for programming and process control.
• Contacts for connecting fuel level sensor and programmer.
